Right off the interstate. The cafe was a walk back in time. Wonderful Route 66 gift shop and really good ugly pies. The owners were the friendliest people, full of tips and stories. Ask them how they came to own the cafe.

The cafe was empty when we arrived at lunchtime on a Thursday in July, but the service was fast and friendly, and the burger and lemon meringue pie were both delicious.

Old Route 66 is from Chicago to Los Angeles. When you have traveled 1,139 miles from either location, you are in Adrian TX. Fran has a 50's diner at midpoint and a sign across the street for a photo op. Easy access from I-40.
