In the center of town in Gainesville, GA stands small park and a statue of a chicken, commemorating Gainesville's status as "Chicken Capital of the World." The street in front of the statue is Jesse Jewell Pkwy. named after the man who revolutionized the poultry industry by utilizing assembly line techniques. Across the street is a locomotive and rail car from the old Gainesville Midland railroad.

Gainesville, GA is the (self-proclaimed?) Chicken Capital Of The World. In town there is a tall obelisk topped with a statue of a chicken (or rooster). It is also noteworthy that it is illegal to eat chicken with a fork in the town of Gainesville.
