Gainesville, Georgia - Chicken Statue In the center of town in Gainesville, GA stands small park and a statue of a chicken, commemorating Gainesville's status as "Chicken Capital of the World." The street in front of the statue is Jesse Jewell Pkwy. named after the man who revolutionized the poultry industry by utilizing assembly line techniques.
