Fake Birthplace Home of William McKinley
Future President William McKinley was born in a small, sad-looking house that was later destroyed by fire. In the early 2000s it was rebuilt, much bigger and nicer than before. Historical marker out front.

Take the guided tour. There is no admission fee, and the young lady conducting the tour is knowledgeable and friendly, explaining the history involved in an interesting and informative manner. Some of the artifacts in the house are period specific and some are from the family's everyday activities. The back half of the house is conspicuously modern and is used for offices, meetings and other functions. Don't miss the giant campaign poster (which is authentic) on the second floor.
