St. Simons, Georgia: Large Bulldog Covered With Pennies (Gone)

A Georgia bulldog statue covered with thousands of glued-on pennies by Sandy Schoettle, part of a local humane society public art fundraiser. Other bulldog statues are scattered around the island.

Directions:
On the west side of Frederica Rd, in a vacant lot, just north of the traffic circle and the Outback steakhouse.

As of 3/20/19 this is no longer anywhere to be found and the very nice ladies at Don's Market across the street are baffled and swear it was just there a few days ago.

A large Georgia Bulldog, covered with pennies, on a wooden crate. It was sponsored by the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.

The bulldog was made by local artist Sandy Schoettle. From the dates on the pennies, it appears to have been created in 2009.
