Visitor Tips and News About Shoe Tree
The shoes have spread to nearby trees (some are short and kids may be able to hang the shoes on low branches). Shoe tossing can be tricky -- practice at a safe place first. Be aware that it's next to a busy/fast highway if you have kids.[Lewis Moten, 04/01/2017]
Roadside Shoe Tree
My wife and I were returning home from photographing the bald eagles nesting at Shiloh Battlefield in Savannah, Tennessee, when we passed a tree full of shoes on the west-bound side of US Hwy 72. I'd put the location somewhere near "smack-dab in the middle" of Luka, Mississippi and Tuscumbia, Alabama.[Jeremy, 04/10/2013]
This particular tree has been sporting shoes since around 2008.
