La Salette Shrine

The Shrine, its buildings, and all of its land now belong to the Enfield Shaker Museum, headquartered adjacent to the Shine. While plans are afoot to re-purpose the bulk of the property, the Shrine itself will remain intact.

La Salette Shrine did not close in 2015. All year long they have a magnificent collection of creches from all over the world. Some are glass, wood, whimsical; every type you can imagine. They are located in the little red house to the right of the parking lot.

Our Lady of La Salette first appeared to a group of children in France in 1846.This Roman Catholic shrine on a former Shaker community site features statues, walkways and resting spots for quiet contemplation of the miracle that happened somewhere else (and there's another La Salette shrine in Wisconsin).
