The Kentucky Museum on WKU campus has a sizable area dedicated to the work of Mr. Duncan Hines, whose name has been attached to many food items including cake and brownie mixes. His story is fascinating and the exhibit contains lots of interesting items and information about his work. His home was in Bowling Green and he is buried in a local cemetery.

Before "Duncan Hines" was a brand of cake mixes, Duncan Hines was a trusted author of restaurant and lodging recommendations. Mr. Hines was a real person, and passionate about good food and hospitality. He was born in Bowling Green, and returned to the city after making a name for himself. There's an exhibit devoted to the life of Duncan Hines on the first floor of the Kentucky Museum on the campus of Western Kentucky University.
