History of Contraception Museum

A must-see for anyone who wants to know the innovative ways people have tried to use onions, mule earwax, and candy bar wrappers as contraceptives. Plus it's free.

Dittrick Museum of Medical History

This small museum is located on the third floor of the Allen Memorial Medical Library. There are a couple offices to the side of the exhibits but we were left to wander at will. Some exhibits are innocuous, such as the early nurse uniforms, while others may induce a little sqeamishness (my faves: photo of horse tied down, cut made to measure blood pressure in 8' tube; trepanation items; early obstetrical equipment).
