Longest Named Thing in America

My grandmother grew up in Webster and learned how to pronounce Webster Lake by its Indian name. It was really neat hearing her say it!

Business with lake name sign.

Longest Named Thing in America

The lake name sure is a mouthful. The sign is in good shape, but in order to get a picture, park with care. The shopping center is just up the road, and the signage there is just as impressive. I doubt if any area clubs have this name on their jerseys.

Longest Named Thing in America

Another fun thing about the longest name is that it translates to "you fish on your side of the lake and I'll fish on mine and no one will fish in the middle."

Sign with long name.

Longest Named Thing in America

This is a really hard-to-find sign as it is only visible heading into Massachusetts, right on the border. I thought it was well worth it because it is quite the name and feat. Lots of people can direct you to the location and if you want to find the shopping center stay on the same road and make a right at the Shaw's.
