Gold Beach, Oregon: Wreck of the Mary D. Hume

140-ft. cedar steamer Mary D. Hume, built in 1881, served commercially as a whaler and later tugboat until 1977, sank into mud in 1985 before plans to make a museum were realized. Now a rusting hulk in the water.

This old cedar steamer was built in 1881, half sunk just offshore since 1985.

Look for a low tide time to visit -- looks cooler. And walk off to the right, there is a trail for a pic of the beautiful bridge.
