To compliment a local ski area, the town of Biwabik redesigned its Main Street to look Bavarian. There are no Matterhorn-size mountains, but in winter there is usually plenty of snow.

The town of Biwabik converted to a Bavarian-themed community in the 1980s. It was changed to compliment the Giants Ridge Ski Area. Its look is currently being refurbished, which will be complete in 2020.
