Right down the street from the Old Sorrel Monument is The Centurium, which contains statues of great people throughout history.
[Bill Debevc, 07/07/2018]The Centurium's open-air gazebo features life-size bronze statues of Worthies around its perimeter. The "Spirit of Discovery" group includes Einstein and Newton; "Fire of Genius" offers Marie Curie holding a flask of radium; "Exaltation of Reason" is several reasonable guys in togas. It was dedicated by former President George Bush on May 2, 1997.

The University is erecting a new classroom building just to the south of the Centurium. It's supposed to be ready for classes in early 2023. We hope that the Centurium reopens before then.
