Photo-friendly roadside ruin of an old Spanish stone fort abandoned in 1772, partly rebuilt in 1937. It fell into ruin again, then was partly rebuilt again in 2011.

Presidio Fort Ruins
The fort ruins have ample parking, clean bathrooms, lots of picnic tables, and beautiful spaces for resting by the San Saba River. There are well-designed information plaques and photos of the history of the area. Definitely a great, quiet place to break on a road trip, or a beautiful location for a special event.
