Some sad news about everyone's favorite politically incorrect black woman-shaped restaurant. I made the trip to Natchez last week and Mammy's been painted lily-white. I guess the PC thugs finally got her.
[Vincent Twice, 07/01/2001]I stopped last year at the restaurant in Natchez that is shaped like a very large black woman. It is called Mammy's and you eat in the skirt. It's a must see in Natchez. Much more fun than the stuffy antebellum mansions and better food. If you have a party of 2-3 they seat you at a larger table with another group of 2-3. Leads to great conversations.
[Rachel Miller, 07/09/1998]A few years back while traveling through Mississippi, my wife and I came upon a truly remarkable structure outside of Natchez, MS. It is on Hwy 61 just south of the city. It is a small restaurant or diner in the shape of Aunt Jemima, completely painted to look like her. It is very weird to come upon it as it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, just sitting there.
[Jay Gannett, 11/06/1997]On highway 61 in Natchez, MS, there is a store shaped like a huge black women in a red dress. The bottom of the dress is where you enter the store. Lots of nice things under that dress.
[Donte Clark, 07/31/1997]It opened in the early 1940s as Mammy's Cupboard Restaurant
