Quantico, Virginia - Iwo Jima Statue In searching for Iwo Jima statues on your site, one is identified in Cape Coral, Florida. More information on that statue identifies it as "one-third scale recreation of the original Marine Corps War Memorial is one of three in existence." I believe this comment refers to work actually done by the original sculpter, Felix DeWeldon. The Quantico statue appears to be another. Have no idea where the third is, but would like to find it.

Directions: On I-95, take Exit 150 east (Joplin Road). At the intersection of Joplin Road and Rt 1, immediately before entering the Quantico Marine Corps base, the statue is on the SE corner.
