VW on Top of Smokestack Vintage Volkswagen Beetle on top of an old brick smokestack. Amsterdam, NY was once headquarters for Mohawk Carpet Mills. You would have expected a rug on a smokestack, but I guess things change. Kirk Douglas also grew up here. [Road_maveN, 09/08/2011]
Car on a Smoke Stack Here's an oddity I came across this weekend while doing a little exploring in the Mohawk Valley. On Route 5...just less than a mile west of the city of Amsterdam and just opposite the Guy Park Manor historic site...there is a vintage red VW Beetle perched atop an old brick smoke stack.
