Moola the Cow

Moo-La is the name of the fiberglass Holstein cow statue in the center of Stephenville. Erath County is the "No. 1 Dairy County in Texas." Moo-La is not particularly large, when compared to battleship-sized bovines like ND's Salem Sue. Still, she is an important tribute to the local dairy industry hoisted on a pole along the street since she was first installed on Sept. 23, 1972 in front of the Erath County Courthouse.
Unfortunately, that No. 1 in Texas claim may not stand for much longer, as local production drops and dairy businesses move west. For now, Moo-La isn't going anywhere.
