- Robertsdale, Alabama - Derailed Diner
It's right off of I-10 on the westbound side. This roadside attraction was on our list of stops, but we axed it early on because of the bad food reviews I read. We found ourselves stopping here anyway because a Subway is in the same building. There was also some local fried chicken place, Chester's Chicken or something like that. The derailed diner is part of a larger truck shop, and has a very large shop inside with everything from clothes to shot glasses to dolls to saddle bar stools.

- Robertsdale, Alabama - Derailed Diner
The diner is a part of the Oasis truck stop. Nostalgia abounds. Every table in the train car has a glass top, with nostalgic items displayed under the glass. The walls are decorated with items from many generations. The food is good, but not great. Given the cool decor, it doesn't have to be. It's definitely worth a stop and a meal.

This is a truck stop diner with a twist. "A little bit off the beaten track." Outside it looks like a train has derailed and a couple of boxcars crashed through the walls into the parking lot. Inside has a school bus (Of which the backdoor of the bus is the exit from the kitchen to the dining room). Some of the tables are made to look like you are eating off the lowered tailgate of pickup trucks. This is all done very well and is worth a peek. We did not eat here so cannot say anything about the food.

You should never let food reviews stop you from visiting an eatery that went to the trouble of simulating a trail wreck.
