- Sylacauga, Alabama - Gravity Hill - Vague Recollections
When I was in my early twenties, a bunch of us girls went riding and drinking the night before my best friend got married. (We had an already-married and pregnant SOBER driver). Not only did the car "roll" uphill, so did the "pee" when we realized we couldn't make it back to a restroom! Now, that was probably the most redneck bachelorette party ever!

- Blytheville, Arkansas - Big, Pink Pig - Vague Recollections
I remember a Big, Pink Pig in Blytheville (I think it was B-ville, it's been 15 years), just south of the Missouri bootheel/Arkansas border. Can anyone in the area there check for it? It was in front of some diner or cafe, can't exactly remember. I've got some friends heading down I55 to New Orleans this summer and I want them to get me a postcard if they can. I had one, but it's lost to the ages. Thanks!

- Dennard, Arkansas - Hummingbird Mountain - Vague Recollections
Does anyone remember Hummingbird Mountain on scenic Hwy 65N between Clinton and Marshall AR? It was a roadsideattraction that was a favorite stopping place on the way to Dogpatch in the '70's. They had animals and a miniature train track. It was near Natural Bridge of Arkansas.

Photo of the St. George Muffler Man I took back in September of 1987, when he was holding a rifle. I think it was a sporting goods store then.

- Bisbee, Arizona - Shady Dell RV Park
The older comments on this classic RV park seem to emphasize the lack of "phony 50s nostalgia", but there was a ton of it when I visited and we loved it: our relatively inexpensive El Rey unit had a vaguely Polynesian thing going on, and every drawer we opened, out popped another vintage book or magazine or exotic geegaw. This turnaround must have come in with the new owners, a young couple who collect this stuff. When we were there, their mother happened to be down and took us on a tour of the other trailers, snapping our picture in various settings and telling us about her role in Spielberg's Always.
Old Bisbee was pretty cool too, and there's a great little co-op grocery just a block past the underpass.
