In addition to the shoe tree, there is lots of other art throughout the yard. The owner/artist was working in his garage when we visited, and was kind enough to come out and chat with us. Really nice guy, but camera shy. He mentioned that the Hawaiian shirt and cocktail cars are long since gone. He's a retired performing arts school teacher, and enjoys traveling on his modern BMW or 1948 Indian motorcycles. He also enjoys creating tasteful art to adorn his landscaping. A really enjoyable stop.

An incredibly done museum, with well organized displays and artifacts. Given the museum shares its space with the national headquarters of American Society of Radiologic Technologists, security is at the forefront and thus visits require an appointment (which are easily obtained and welcoming). I had a solo tour with the Executive Director of the museum William Bill Brennan, and he could not have been more gracious and knowledgeable. I learned more in those two hours about various aspects of radiology than I had garnered in my prior 63 years.

In addition to telephones, operator consoles, and other industry equipment, the museum features lots of historical photographs, life size dioramas of historical events, several pioneer pin collections, and even a collection of AT&T sponsored-items from the 1984 LA Summer Olympics -- including one of the torches used in the relay to light the caldron. There are four floors of amazing artifacts and items. Plan to spend more time there than you might otherwise expect. The volunteers there are a wealth of knowledge and eager to help you through the many displays.
