Giant Ant

Murray Family Farms is a traveler's oasis on the Hwy 58 downslope from Tehachapi Pass. Families pile out of their brake-weary vehicles to use the rest rooms, peruse the store and load up on fruit, jellies, nuts, and beverages.

Aside from the free store, Murray Family Farms offers a couple of paid activities. The farm attraction offers hay wagon rides across 43 acres of crops. The outdoor farm adventure area for kids features a petting zoo, live ant farm, "Talking Pipes," and assorted activities. A large ant, visible from the parking lot, has been fashioned from old tanks and painted red.
