Fred and me.

Flintstones Bedrock City

Charge was $5 but the amusement was totally worth it. Stopped because it was right on the way to the Grand Canyon (don't know that I would've driven out of my way for it). Kids (of any age) will enjoy huge dinosaur slide. It's fun to be able to say I've been there!

Off to Bedrock Jail.

We saw this on our way to the Grand Canyon from Flagstaff. I was traveling with my 14 yr old son and my mother. We stopped by just to check it out and we all turned 6 again. Even my 14 yr. old admired the magic of the place. I mean, you step into a childhood cartoon, a childhood memory. It is not what it used to be I am sure, it looks a little rough, but I think that gives it more of a realistic stone age feel. We all took turns sliding down the tail of the dinosaur yelling "Yabadabadoo," just like Fred Flintstone at quitting time!

This is one of our favorite Roadside America stops so far, and well worth the detour. Even my indignant teen was impressed! We arrived just as the sun was setting and had the place to ourselves, which added to surreal experience of walking into a Hannah Barbara cartoon. I definitely got my five dollars worth in photographs.

The owner was telling us how she was looking to sell the place. I really hope that if she does find an owner, they decide to keep it open. Also, her "tour guide" is awesome, so excited about the place. Make sure you have him take you on a ride through the volcano to scream YABBA DABBA DOO!!!!

Got kids? Gotta stop! $5 a head and worth it, would go again. So it's not perfect, but not bad. Looks like the crew has been working on things, and cheers to them. We spent 3 hours and the kids didn't want to leave.

Who doesn't want to slide down the tail of a giant dinosaur? America needs more attractions like this!
