Grand Central Air Terminal Museum
Before there was LAX, the center of Southern California air transportation was in Glendale. The airport was used by Amelia Earhart, Howard Hughes, and Charles Lindbergh, and was seen in the 1934 movie "Bright Eyes" starring Shirley Temple. The 1929 airport terminal building was recently purchased by Disney, completely restored, and reopened as private offices and a museum, which is open during free monthly tours.
