Giant Artichoke Great stop for fresh fruit and vegetables, and really good coffee bar with lounge-y area. [Rae, 06/05/2010]
Giant Artichoke This is me at the biggest attraction of my FAVORITE food! And I had an amazing, all-artichoke dinner there, too. [Julie Orlando, 12/01/2007]
Giant Artichoke Castroville, California (where I live), is the "Artichoke Center of the World," and also happens to be
right down the highway from Gilroy. Here, on Merritt Street, is the Giant Artichoke, a restaurant of that
name which also happens to have one HUGE cement artichoke out front! It's also rather curious that Marilyn
Monroe began her beauty-queen career by winning the "Miss Artichoke" contest in the annual "Artichoke
Festival" way back when...and there's still a bar (gay, now) in town called "Norma Jean's." [Hairfish, 08/22/1998][RA: One of our favorite big veggies.
