Remnant of the Giant Orange chain -- the first orange-shaped business was built by Frank E. Pohl in 1926 and multiple versions franchised in the early 1930s. Giant oranges peaked with about 16 stands in California, and lost their fresh orange juice highway pull-off appeal by the 1970s.
