Fighter Plane Gas Station When I was a young lad, my great-uncle and aunt lived in Caruthers. What is now Elm Ave was Highway 41 then. The gas station was how we knew where the turnoff was. These days, it's just west of the new 41. [Jack Cornelison, 10/09/2009]
Fighter Plane Crash Gas Station Just south of Fresno, is the Quick Stop Minimart (which used to be called the AirGas in the '50s). Atop the center pump island is a WWII era fighter plane nose down.
