Costa Mesa, California - Alibaba Motel For those of you who are interested in quirky architecture, the Alibaba Motel is a must see when in Southern CA. The motel was built in the 50's, complete with a white stucco exterior and giant taj mahal-style entry way. It is unfortunate that the original sign has been replaced with a more modern red and white plastic sign...no neon. The motel itself seems a bit sketchy, but it is great for a quick photo op. I briefly walked around the grounds and did not see a single soul, it was as if it was deserted. [Greg Kopp, 03/31/2009]
