Hollywood, California: Infamous Casting Couch (Gone)
The proverbial Hollywood Casting Couch (in stone) was a photo op artwork meant to call attention to Hollywood sexism. The Hollywood sign was visible, in the distance, above the couch, which visitors could sit on. The couch was removed in 2022.

- Hollywood and Highland Shopping Center, on the north-facing observation deck. To get to it, walk north one block on Highland Ave. from its intersection with Hollywood Blvd. On the west (left) side you'll see an entrance to a parking garage. Turn there, and you'll see the stairway on the left.

The proverbial Hollywood Casting Couch has been recreated on the north facing deck of the Hollywood and Highland Shopping Center in Hollywood. Facing the dramatic backdrop of the Hollywood Hills and the famous Hollywood sign, this makes a memorable souvenir photo. Under the couch is a mosaic with the confession of "The Road to Hollywood, How Some Of Us Got Here" written on it.
