Shinnston, West Virginia: Giant Coal Miner Charlie
Named "Charlie," the giant miner statue is made of scrap metal, carries a lunch pail and wears a helmet with a working light. According to the nearby plaque, the memorial was erected in 1999 to honor coal miners.

Giant Coal Miner This is a giant coal miner. It's in front of Repair King. You have to turn in next to Lincoln High School. The coal miner is named Charlie. He has a real light in his miners cap. My dad says he's been there for many years.
