Underground Shark Attack! An 18-foot-long hyperreal Mako shark statue appears to be bursting through paving blocks to chomp on unsuspecting students at Nova Southeastern University (The eye-of-death Mako is the school's mascot). Unveiled on May 8, 2012, the shark was sculpted by Kent Ullberg from Sweden. He's created several other big fish statues around Florida, but none this frightening. The polished bronze teeth of the shark should discourage even college students from sticking their hands in its mouth -- maybe. We haven't a clue what part of a shark statue should be rubbed for good luck.
