Sioux Falls, South Dakota - Muffler Man - Mr. Bendo

Mr. Bendo is still at Buck's Muffler Shop, wearing an employee's uniform with a "Mr. Bendo" name tag. We're pretty sure we saw this guy on the corner of Cliff and 12th (not 10th as noted in a previous tip). [Julia Sjoberg, 09/12/2007]

Mister Bendo has disappeared from the front of Buck's Muffler. When a local radio station asked Buck's where he went, they said he'd been sent to Minnesota for repair. They also assured the community that he'd return. [Eric Renshaw, 07/05/2001]

I had Buck's Muffler (Sioux Falls) replace the muffler on my car. While waiting, I took a look at their bulletin board. It has very interesting photos on Muffler Men all over the U.S. There is a good one of Mr.Bendo in an Elvis costume . He stands guard outside, holding a tailpipe in his hands.
