Visitor Tips and News About Rest Stop Tiny Church - Eastbound
There is no longer a steeple on the tiny church.[Amanda, 03/30/2013]
A weather casualty? Or was the steeple making the tiny church appear too large....
There's no sign telling you it is there. We just happened to stop by chance. Neat stop that won't take long to see.[Beckycrocker, 06/06/2011]
I found the Wayside Chapel interesting for several reasons. First, there are two identical chapels built on either side of I-90. Second, the chapels are located towards the back of an Interstate rest area. From the literature inside, travelers are invited to sit down and reflect for a while before getting back on the road. The chapels were constructed by a larger church in [Corsica, SD], and the literature made it sound like services were held in the little chapels occasionally on Sundays for passersby. Exterior measurements were guesstimated at 8 feet by 10 feet. Three rows of chairs on the inside complete with an altar in the front.[Greg Brown, 10/13/2001]
