Giant Black Marble Floating on Water

Located at the Centennial Plaza, this 1,500kg granite marble floats on a film of 10-pounds-per-square-inch of recycled water. Because it floats, it can be spun in any direction with very little effort.

[RS, 11/22/2014]

Called a "Kugel Ball," these interactive fountains have been installed in many places as an alternative to traditional public water features. 1500kg is roughly 3,300 pounds; there are some that are 10,000+ lbs.
