Alma, Colorado - Fake Cop? What a surprise to read the entry about Alma. We, too, "sped" thru Alma and were intercepted by a very seriously agitated policeman -- who gave us a stern warning about speeding through Alma and gave us a "free souvenir" in the form of a pink warning that looks official but makes no formal mention of State of Colorado -- it's pretty generic, save for the handwritten phone number on top which leads to the "town of Alma" offices [M Gannon, 07/19/2006]

Alma, Colorado - Fake Cop Similar to Twin Lakes, Colorado, Alma, CO has a fake cop to supplement its very small police force. He typically sits at the north end of town behind a gold mine era shed. Caution, the speed limit in town IS strictly enforced if you run into one of the "real" law enforcement officers and they love speeding tourists. [Terri, 02/10/2002]
