VW Slug Bug Ranch Slug Bug Ranch. Five Volkswagen Bugs buried nose down in the ground similar to Cadillac Ranch. I visited the site this morning, 05/02/2004, and it is actually 18 miles east of the east edge of Amarillo. It's an open air display that is accessible 24 hours a day at no cost.
