Nascar Muffler Man The Muffler Man at Sir Goony's in Chattanooga is hard to see from the road. GPS took me there, then said travel offroad! When on the main road look for the giraffe statue by the road, just down the street from Hooters. Way in the back you will find him in the Go Kart track. [Erik, 08/08/2011]

Muffler Man - NASCAR Pit Crew Member Sir Goony Golf has changed its Muffler Man yet again. Instead of being the victim of paintball lunatics, the manager repainted him as a NASCAR pit crew member in front of their Go-Cart Race Track. He holds a tire in one hand and a wrench in the other. He's visible from the parking lot. We arrived in the morning and Sir Goony's was closed, which was too bad because its miniature golf looked fabulous. For Rock City and Ruby Falls tourists, Sir Gooney Golf is a great place to visit. [Josh and Pam Shepherd, 03/20/2005]
Paintball Muffler Man We went to Sir Goony's Golf in Chattanooga, TN in search of their Muffler Man, and were surprised to see it wasn't out front as reported in Roadside America. Undaunted, we went inside and asked the kid working the counter, "Where's your big man statue? The one with the hands that look like this?" (and we did the muffler man hands impression). After giving us a reeeeally strange look, he paused in thought, and suddenly we saw a twinkle in his eyes. "Oh, him," he said, "he's lying down on his back out by the paintball area. He's our 'Paintball Guy' now." We went out back, and sure enough, there he was, a Muffler Man lying on his back, with a plastic garbage bag over the top half of his face, burlap squares for "eye-holes", and splattered with paintball rounds. Yes folks, he's been hit with paintballs, and he's down. But he's still there. Go check him out. We enjoyed the rare view up inside the hollow of the MM. But hopefully they'll have him back on his feet again, presumably with a big paintball gun in his hands.
Incidentally, the "goony golf" course at Sir Goony's is, in and of itself, a worthy Roadside America destination for their gigantic, nightmarish, slightly-weathered fiberglass creations, many of which are motorized. They've got a giant vampire head, an albino Buddha with light-bulb eyes, a dinosaur with a cave-man on a string, and too many other freaky creations to name. [Tony & Kimberly Paglia, 09/29/2002]
