Tim Willis Monster Trucks

In the Fairfax neighborhood of Cleveland you'll find the yard of self-taught engineer Tim Willis. Willis toured the country for twenty years with Monster Jams as a mechanic. Over this tenure he became quite a skilled engineer and he's filled his retirement years making his own monster trucks and, yes, fully functional Transformers.

Several of his creations are usually on display in the front yard of Willis's workshop. His logo is a red and yellow drip motif, based on the memory of ketchup and mustard dripping off hot dogs sold at a ballgames Willis attended as a kid with his dad. We were fortunate to meet Tim during our visit. He was generous enough to spend close to an hour with us, showing us how some of his creations work (the two-headed dragon walks and the heads move up and down), as well as some projects he's working on.

Tim is a very nice man and clearly extremely talented. His creations are easily visible from the street, keeping in mind that this is a residential neighborhood.
