We've been passing this Muffler Man all my life. He's a highly anticipated sight on our way to visit Grandma; in our family he's fondly called "Baseball Onion." His former incarnation (before being a football player with the #8) was Paul Bunyan. Look at his clothing's details and you'll see the lumberjack-ness. My childish mispronunciation left him with our nickname.
"Baseball Onion" and a chocolate-dipped cone at the nearby DQ were always highlights of our trip.
