It appears El Toro has changed nationalities. His male-hood no longer reflects the American Flag as reported in 2008, but rather now sports the flag of Italy. Otherwise he's looking in pretty good shape. The restaurant, however, has been closed since April 2022 due to a kitchen fire. Unsure if it will reopen.

The good news: what was formerly a deserted restaurant with an overgrown yard has undergone significant construction and cleanup and is now an inpatient rehabilitation center. Bad news: the Tucson Toro that stood outside the restaurant is nowhere to be found. I spoke with a center employee, but he had no information about the whereabouts of the bull.

We didn't get to talk to anyone since it was after 5 pm when we visited, but we found the mural. It is no more than four feet high. With so many beautiful murals in Tucson, I'd suggest checking out the lion on a church, the javelina on a Goodwill, or the parrot on a middle school before coming to this one.
[Adventures Of Cluckleberry Hen, 12/27/2022]On the Roadside research radar for a decade. May not be huge by mural standards, but it's likely the only one of a space alien towing a wrecked flying saucer.

The Coit Museum of Pharmacy is small, but well organized and full of historic pieces. There is an apothecary room, interactive videos, and more mortar and pestles than you can believe. The chewing gum is not labeled as such but the students were happy to help direct me to it.
