The Lincoln Ledger is no longer displayed at this former bank, which is now a government building. When I inquired about it at the Visitor's Center, I was told that it was being relocated.

- In the Chase Bank on the southeast corner of 6th and Washington Sts. Downtown, across 6th St. from the east side of the old state capitol.

Life-size metal statues of animals. A Bigfoot; a dinosaur towering over two tractors; a longhorn steer; and other farm and zoo animals are scattered over a large lawn. They are easily seen from the road without having to trespass.

- Northwest edge of the city. From IL-4 turn west at the stoplight onto IL-97/W. Jefferson St. Drive two miles. You'll see the animals on the left. Private property; visible from the street.
Pinky the martini-drinking elephant is right where he is supposed to be, in the parking lot of the Kent Plaza strip mall. He can be rented out for special occasions, so that may explain his absence from this spot every once in a while.

Cute stop, right on the road, although hidden. It is next to a pizza and pasta restaurant.

- North edge of the city. On the south side of E. Sangamon Ave. just west of its intersection with N. Peoria Rd. It's small and set back from the road, between the chiropractor and the pizzeria.

The wax figures, although well crafted, retain a bit of Halloween creepiness. Which I like.

- I-55 exit 98B. Drive west on Clear Lake Ave. into town. Clear Lake turns into Jefferson St. The museum is on the corner of Jefferson and 6th St. Turn right on 6th, and drive two blocks to the parking garage.
