"Airplane Parts" by sculptor Nancy Rubins is made of scraps of old airplanes wired together into a massive junk tree -- 25 feet tall and 65 feet across.

- In downtown Los Angeles, outside of the Museum of Contemporary Art. I-110 exits 23B or 23C for Downtown/4th St. Once on 4th St., quickly take the exit for Hope St. Turn left onto Hope St., drive one block, turn right onto 3rd St., drive one block, then turn left onto Grand Ave. The museum will be on the right; the sculpture is set back from the street in a courtyard.

Big Junk Sculpture Made of Old Airplanes Nancy Rubins' "Airplane Parts" was purchased by MOCA in 2002. Its full title is "Chas' Stainless Steel, Mark Thompson's Airplane Parts, About 1,000 Pounds of Stainless Steel Wire, and Gagosian's Beverly Hills Space at MOCA."
And it's BIG. Not really my kind of thing, though. More like Art, with a capital A.
