His name is Big Mike -- he has had a muffler and some food sign in his hands. He also used to have a brother up the street that was torn down some twenty or so years ago. But the main think is to save Big Mike. The mayor of Hayward says he's an eyesore and is trying to have him torn down soon

[Carol Kato, 01/19/2001]The first one I ever saw still lives in my hometown of Hayward CA. He's been neglected for years and somebody stole his muffler. I believe he may have displayed a "work for food" sign at one time!

- Bell Plastics. In an industrial park. I-880/Nimitz Fwy exit 28. Drive west on Winton Ave. for one mile. At the stoplight, turn left onto Clawiter Rd, then make first right onto National Ave. Drive a quarter-mile. You'll see a blue building on the left; Big Mike is in the alley next to it.
