The James T. Kirk birthplace monument has evidently been recently renovated, as the sidewalk was still under construction around it. Also, there are Kirk banners on telephone poles in town.

- On the south side of city hall, on the west side of Greene St., a half-block north of IA-22/W. First St.

On private land. Shabby and decaying. It helps to realize how different life was: cars must have been moving slowly for the original owner to identify the car license plates in advance.
[BL-EV, 04/25/2024]The dirt road (Old Highway 24) that passes by the Wonder Tower still slows traffic considerably. There was talk soon after the death of the Tower owner in 2013 that it would be maintained, but that obviously has not happened.

- Directions:
- I-70 exit 371. Turn north onto CO-31, then a quick left onto (unmarked) Old Hwy 24. Bear right onto the dirt road at the grain elevators. You'll soon reach the Tower.
- Hours:
- Owner died in 2013. Tower still stands, but is closed to the public. Local health policies may affect hours and access.
Really cool, but there are signs saying that better photo opportunities are coming if you wait a bit. Right now there is a large fence all the way around the Sasquatch.

- Directions:
- Mercer County Fairgrounds. West edge of town. From OH-29/W. Logan St. turn north (no stoplight) onto Morton St. Drive three blocks to the stop sign. You'll see the front gate to the Fairgrounds, with the Bigfoot just inside the fence.
- Hours:
- M, Tu, Th 8:30-4:30, F 8:30-4. Gated after hours. Local health policies may affect hours and access.

This giant Sasquatch was built in April 2024, during the weekend of the full solar eclipse. It is worth seeing.

The monument was moved to a slightly different location in town, although the exact birthplace won't be known for another 200+ years.
