Cabazon's Dinny the dinosaur. Dinosaurs of Cabazon

For years, the Cabazon Dinosaurs could be seen from I-10 in both directions. Now you must get off the 10 to have a good view. [Art, 12/25/2010]

Inside the dinosaur's map. Cabazon Dinosaurs

Robotic dinos work well and everything seems to be maintained. Definitely a cool place to bring kids. Sitting where Pee-Wee Herman did in the mouth of the T-Rex was a bonus. Worth the price of admission. Oh, and the Creationist signs? Easy to ignore and didn't spoil the visit. [Drumbabe, 10/16/2010]
Cabazon Dinosaurs

The Dinosaurs are a blast to visit. Although there are Creationist posters, I just chose to ignore them. No one tried to force feed it.Entry fee has increased to $6.95 but it is worth it. I also found a 3-D Dinosaur coloring book that is real cool, jumps right out of the page. [Mark, 08/06/2010]

Cabazon Dinosaur Delights

The place certainly looks great from the freeway and up close the dinosaurs don't disappoint. The robotic dinos move and sound convincing, and the T-Rex is cool to climb into. That much is worth the entry fee for sure.

However... from the outside, the place gives no hint that it is a fundamentalist Christian organization determined to convince its patrons that man and dinosaur coexisted because "the Bible says so on the 6th day."

Posted in several conspicuous locations within the compound are signs talking about how carbon dating is wrong. Even more hilarious are various displays showing a knight amongst dinosaurs and a WW2 era soldier hanging out in the jungle with velociraptors. Really?! Flintstones was not a documentary, guys.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the good ideas contained within the Bible, but crafting a dinosaur show to lure kids, and the kid-at-heart, and then blindsiding them with a "science is faith too" message just smacks of shady conduct. [Hanky, 01/25/2010]
