Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch

Take the time to go by and see this unique artist's glass and industrial item museum. It's currently free, with a wishing well for donations. I hope his family keeps it up, charges $2-3 for admission, keeps it frozen in time for Elmer. Don't let it die...

I really enjoyed walking among the old bottles and insulator caps. The sky was a pretty backdrop. If you like junkyard art, this is excellent.

Elmer's Place - Bottle Cacti

Quirky art with antique bottles, industrial equipment, and vehicle parts. It was very cool, sort of Road Warrior meets Dr. Seuss. It's kid friendly but watch your step, because there is glass like at a public beach.

Elmer's Bottle Tree Farm

As we drove down Route 66 this past summer, we had the opportunity to hang out with Elmer and his bottle trees. He's a wonderful folk artist and the trees are special to him. The objects on top of the trees are items he has collected from childhood. He was really neat to talk to and he took time to entertain a couple of Mother Road travelers. Stop by and tell Elmer hi!

Sometimes called "Bottle Tree Ranch" -- the tallest tree is 18 feet high -- it surrounds the home of friendly Elmer Long, who began building it in 2002.
