A collection of six Easter Island moai replicas stand next to a train track and across the street from the artist who made them. There's a small parking area that is open to the public.
[Justin Bird, 03/29/2024]What we especially appreciate about this line-up by artist Steve Smith is that one of the moai is a head-in-the-hole photo-op. In other words, an Easter Island head that can have your face.

- Directions:
- Take US-41A into town. Turn east at the stoplight (Waffle House) onto N. Washington St. Drive under the overpass, then make a quick left onto Veterans Drive. At the T intersection turn left; you'll see the heads.

Did you know Pine Bush is the capital of alien sightings on the eastern seaboard? Well, get ready to learn a lot more about that claim.
This museum may seem small from the outside but it's actually packed with dioramas, animatronics, audio-visual presentations, and at least one mysterious shaking platform. There's a whole section where animatronic aliens pop out of tubes, followed by a paranormal section where Big Foot and a collection of "shadow people" jump out at you during spooky presentations. There are no fewer than four short films about alien and paranormal sightings in the Pine Bush region (The whole town has kind of a lazy alien theme going on in deference to the museum).
If you're lucky, the proprietor, Lance, will give you a personal tour (He was wearing a three piece suit and newsboy cap at noon on a Saturday when we visited). No photos allowed inside, but there is an alien abduction photo-op at the end where you can take pictures.
I cannot emphasize enough how insane of an experience this museum is. Me and my friends have been talking about it for more than a month since we got back.

Well, it is 2024, and the Train Safety Challenge kiosk may have been retired since [that last tip in] 1999. The museum is a momentous and wonderful space to spend a few hours.
The B&O collection of historical engines and railcars are really something to see. Find the St. Elizabeth locomotive and see if you spot the duck (head) welded to the body for reasons unknown!

Penny Lane hours have changed to Thursday-Sunday 11:00am-3:00pm. Pretty confident about this since the hours are now stenciled on the front door. Loved this place. They are expanding soon to be able to share the apparently extensive collection of the owner. Only place where I have seen official Beatles hairspray or mothballs.
