Documentation is clear (a copy of the signed lease is displayed as part of the tour) that Elvis leased the house for one year and it is believed that he and Priscilla intended to be married at the house before Rona Barrett, Hollywood columnist and next door neighbor to the home, spotted the activity. Because of the impending media circus, the wedding was moved to Las Vegas and then the group returned immediately to the Palm Springs house on Ladera. More details are available on the tour.
